Pre: Final Fantasy XIII

If only we really could be sure that it would be the “final” Final Fantasy game…
The world would be a better place if Squeenix a) changed their stupid freaking name and b) stopped churning out unplayable brain-melting self-indulgence.
Like most of the recent games in the franchise, Final Fantasy XIII is shaping up to be yet another animated art piece. When will they get it into their heads that no one wants to play their ridiculous concept art. I pity the poor fools who are going to pick this game up expecting to be able to actually control those “screenshots”.
Consider yourselves warned!

I don’t see what everyone sees in these games, especially Final Fantasy 7. The only fantasy here is that this franchise is still popular.

Nah I preff FF9, and its the storey not the gameplay (even though it does its job) people buy FF games for.

I really have to doubt the finality of this series. My hugest hope is that this company soon gets bought by a larger one, so it may be obliterated like the multitude of pheasants I shall be shoot until Pac-Man: Adventures in Time 2 comes out.

Ever since I saw Final Fantasy (1) had come out I assumed and dearly hoped that this would be the final one and, after seeing no evidence to the contrary, I filed a lawsuit against squat4dix for producing millions of misnomers and expect to enter court any minute soon. I applied to the EU and got all the copies of this entire series and also final destination 1-3 removed from all stores in Europe, burning them ritually, anyone who finds a copy of any of these on sale must; on punishment of 5 solitary twilight viewings, dickslap the manager of said store and proceed to rip out their heart and ram it down their throat thereby suffocating them

Wasn’t the first FF supposed to be just that? The FINAL FANTASY? But of course, it made money, and the Japanese transformed it into a trend. Great job.

Square still has solid if highly convoluted stories. The game play has just become a chore, and they went the completely wrong direction with trying to alleviate that (ie. “how about no game play?”) From memory the churning out over over produced trash started with the merger into “Squeenix”. Ever since it has seemed like SquareEnix just wants to produce movies. But they don’t know how to compress 70hrs of plot and game play into a 120minute movie.
So they’re practicing by making their games shorter and less interactive, eventually they’ll have it down, and we’ll have a bunch of movies about emo teens, that dress like strippers and look like girls, with emotional problems fighting against an invisible totalitarianism using nothing but uncharacteristic strength over-sized weapons and magic all for the good of their peace loving hippie agenda erhh.. I mean Gaia.
